The Parable Of The Richest Man
By
The Man Who Saw God Face To Face
Raphael Okechukwu Nweze
A man built a restaurant for travelers. And so it happened that when a traveler came passing, the man’s family would encourage him to stay for a while. While the traveler stayed for rest, they would friendly ask him questions.
The first traveler came, and the following conversation took place.
The Man: Where are you going to this night?
The Prophet: I am going to the north to prophesy.
The Man: It is good that you are going to the north. But, first prophesy for us here.
The Prophet: I prophesy success and prosperity for your family.
The second traveler came, and the following conversation took place.
The Man: Where are you going to this night?
The Visioner: I am going to the south to reveal what is hidden.
The Man: It is good that you are going to the south. But first, reveal what is here hidden.
The Visioner: This place where you have your restaurant is the shrine of an idol. You must call for spiritual work to destroy its power. Otherwise, it shall make your efforts useless and your life shall become wasted years.
The third traveler came, and the following conversation took place.
The Man: Where are you going to this night?
The Spiritualist: I am going to the west to perform deliverance.
The Man: It is good that you are going to the west. But first, deliver us from the shrine that is here unseen.
The Spiritualist: By the blood of Jesus, I deliver you from the shrine, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I destroy it with the consuming fire.
The fourth traveler came, and the following conversation took place.
The Man: Where are you going to this night?
The Reverend Father: I am going to the east to give Holy Communion.
The Man: It is good that you are going to the east. But first, give us here the Holy Communion.
The Reverend Father: Now, receive the body and blood of Jesus.
The sixth traveler came, and the following conversation took place.
The Man: Where are you going to this night?
The Pastor: I am going here and there to prosper people.
The Man: It is good that you are going here and there. But first, prosper us here.
The Pastor: In the name of God, become prosperous.
The seventh traveler came, and the following conversation took place.
The Man: Where are you going to this night?
The Mystic: I am moving about teaching people how to find and experience God.
The Man: It is good that you are moving about. But first, teach us here how to find and experience God.
The Mystic: Observe quiet times and meditate on God and life.
And so it happened that the man became the richest man, while his fellow villagers spend their precious time arguing, unnecessarily, on which religion is the best.
Jesus made it clear, saying, “Whenever you meet any good minister of God, do your best to collect all the blessings in his hands and put them in your bag.” And I add, “Do not spend your precious time arguing which religion is better, for many teachings of God have been turned upside down without the public knowing it. Instead, seek the truth, which sets free. It is only the truth that leads to everlasting life.”
